www. danaguitarorganisation.org (Youngstown State University, Ohio). He began
his guitar career here in Ottawa and has since earned many accolades including
a prize in the 2001 GFA International guitar competition. He will present a
varied program - works by Domeniconi, CPE Bach, Fowler.

ABOUT THE OTTAWA GUITAR SOCIETY
The Ottawa Guitar Society is an organization of classical guitar enthusiasts and players. It was originally formed in the late 60's in Ottawa and has presented many years of world class guitar concerts and functions for its members. Unfortunately, the OGS became somewhat inactive in the mid to late 90's due to lowered membership and interest.
As of March 2004, a dedicated group of guitar professionals, students and enthusiasts are reforming the society. These include some of the most prominent professional guitarists in the Outaouais area as well as serious students of the guitar.
There is an excellent base of interested people here in Ottawa, and working together we believe we can make a newly reformed guitar society a great success.
Everyone interested in the guitar is welcome, from the enthusiast, to the beginner, to the professional concert artist.
It is our goal to unite our community in friendship so that the beauty, richness and fun of the guitar can be experienced by all. We will be hosting concerts, member events and outreach programs including a student guitar orchestra that any aspiring guitarist may apply to join.
If you were a veteran member of the old Ottawa guitar society, or this is a brand new interest for you, we hope you will want to be involved.

The Ottawa
Guitar Society in cooperation with the Hintonburg Community
Association present an annual celebration of the classical guitar
and the Hintonburg community .
This event
includes performances by guitar students of all ages
and levels, guitar exhibits, workshops, food and retail vendors and
games and prizes.
Please join
us for an afternoon of fun and learning in Hintonburg
Park, behind the Hintonburg Community Centre at 1064 Wellington
Street.

The OGS is working with the Ottawa Kiwanis Festival to rekindle the
guitar division in their annual festival and competition. All levels of guitarists
can enter, and the entry deadline is in Dec. each year.

Feb 11-12, 2006 the Alla grande guitar festival, featuring Benjamin
Verdery is taking place in Ottawa. It will also include prominent guitarists
from Quebec and Ontario. This festival is being run by the University of Ottawa,
